#1 – Before you set off on your journey
The first step is to check whether your idea is in alignment with your values and therefore serves your long term goals based on those values?
Well done if you have figured out how to make millions overnight but if that will make you deeply unhappy in the process, then what is the point of going on that journey?
From my own experience, I can assure you that having lots of money rarely solves our need for a deeper meaning in our lives or compensates us adequately for losing friendships and partners along the way.
Be honest with yourself, will your idea really serve these goals or take you further away from them? If your vision shows you spending more time with your friends and family, and your idea would involve being away from home seven days a week, then it probably is not an idea to pursue. Of course, building any business will require a lot of work at the beginning but if it looks like you will have to put in 7-day weeks for years to get there then maybe think of a different idea that will give you what you need.
The final ingredient you need before setting off on your journey is a passion for your idea. As you are going to be living with your idea for many years, so it needs to be a place you want to go on a daily basis.
